As the world and all industries strive to achieve "carbon neutrality by 2050," the maritime industry has also taken steps, with the IMO (International Maritime Organization) establishing its initial GHG strategy in 2018 and strengthening it in 2023 by setting a goal to reach net-zero GHG emissions by 2050. To address this challenge, BEMAC acquired The Switch, which is the world’s leading manufacturer of permanent magnet shaft generators, in February 2024. This presentation will introduce the permanent magnet shaft generator and DC switchboards as key solutions for achieving net-zero GHG emissions in the maritime industry by 2050.
As a leading manufacturer of electrical equipment for marine vessels, we are involved in the design, manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of all types of electrical equipment, including power distribution and control systems for ships. Utilizing a wealth of experience and a proven track record in this field, we are able to provide a comprehensive range of services, including engineering proposals based on customer issues and after-sales service. We also offer optimal solutions to meet the unique requirements of each vessel.
With The Switch, a European generator manufacturer, as a group company, we provide efficient power supply systems with permanent magnet (PM) shaft generators and direct current (DC) distribution panels. We will develop energy solutions through wind power generation and ship energy efficiency in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Through synergy with BEMAC’s service network, we will build a reliable customer support system.
